Data export (GDPR right to portability)
Under GDPR and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine‑readable format.
Requesting data export
- Go to Account settings → Privacy tab.
- Click Request data export.
- Select the data you want to include:
- Account information (name, email, organization details)
- All trees you created (as JSON)
- All facts you created (as JSON)
- Session history (anonymized)
- Audit log entries (last 30 days)
- Choose format: JSON (default) or CSV.
- Click Start export.
- Click the link in the email, or go to Account settings → Privacy → My exports.
- Find the export request and click Download.
- A ZIP file is downloaded containing your data in the requested format.
account.json– User profile and organization details.trees/– Folder with one JSON file per tree (same format as manual export).facts.json– All facts in a single JSON array.sessions.json– Session metadata (anonymized, no personal customer data unless collected).audit.json– Audit log entries.
Export processing time
Exports are processed asynchronously. Small exports (<100 items) are ready in minutes. Large exports (thousands of trees/facts) may take up to 48 hours.
You receive an email with a download link when the export is ready. The link expires after 7 days.

Deleting export files
Exported files are automatically deleted from Certorix servers 7 days after generation. You can also manually delete them from the 'My exports' page.
Certorix never stores your exported data longer than necessary.
