Payment methods: add, update, remove

Managing payment methods

Add, update, or remove payment methods for your Certorix subscription.

Adding a payment method

  1. Go to Billing in the sidebar.
  2. Click Manage subscription (opens Stripe customer portal).
  3. Click Payment methods.
  4. Click Add payment method.
  5. Enter your card details or link a bank account (European SEPA).
  6. Click Add.

Setting a default payment method

  1. In Stripe customer portal → Payment methods.
  2. Find the card you want as default.
  3. Click Set as default.
  4. Future subscriptions and invoices will use this method.

Updating an expired card

  1. Stripe automatically attempts to update card details via card networks. Often, expired cards are updated automatically.
  2. If automatic update fails, you will receive an email notification.
  3. Go to Stripe customer portal → Payment methods.
  4. Click Update next to the expired card.
  5. Enter the new expiry date or replace with a new card.

Removing a payment method

  1. In Stripe customer portal → Payment methods.
  2. Click the trash icon next to the payment method.
  3. Confirm removal.
  4. You cannot remove the only payment method on an active subscription. Add a new one first, then remove the old one.

Payment method security

  • Certorix never stores your full card details. Stripe handles all payment processing.
  • Certorix is PCI DSS compliant (via Stripe).
  • All payment pages are served over HTTPS from Stripe.
  • Certorix only stores the last 4 digits and card type.
