Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel your paid subscription at any time. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Steps to cancel

  1. Go to Billing in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Manage subscription (opens Stripe customer portal).
  3. Click Cancel subscription.
  4. Confirm cancellation. You will not be charged again.

What happens after cancellation

  • Your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of the current billing period.
  • If you have more published trees than the Free limit (10), you must unpublish the excess trees. Certorix will not automatically unpublish them, but the widget may show an error until you do.
  • If you have more certified facts than the Free limit (10), they remain certified but you cannot certify new ones until you uncertify down to 10.
  • AI generation credits reset to the Free limit (5/month).

Data retention after cancellation

If you cancel completely (downgrade to Free and then delete your account):

  • 30‑day grace period: all data (trees, facts, sessions) remains accessible for export.
  • After 30 days: data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • To delete your account immediately, contact support.

Re‑subscribing

If you re‑subscribe within the 30‑day grace period, your data is automatically restored. After 30 days, you start with a clean account.
