Billing plans: what 'published' means for limits

Understanding 'published' in plan limits

Plan limits (e.g., '10 published trees') refer to the number of trees that are published simultaneously, not the total trees you own.

How the limit works

If you have a Free plan (10 published trees limit):

  • You can create 100 draft trees — drafts do not count.
  • You can publish up to 10 trees at the same time.
  • To publish an 11th tree, you must unpublish an existing published tree first.
  • The unpublished tree goes back to Draft and no longer counts.

Same for certified facts

The certified facts limit (e.g., '10 certified facts' on Free) refers to facts with status Certified simultaneously:

  • You can have 100 draft facts — not counted.
  • You can certify up to 10 facts at once.
  • To certify an 11th fact, unpublish (uncertify) an existing certified fact first.

Why this design?

This allows you to maintain a large internal knowledge base (drafts) while only paying for what you make public (certified/published). You can rotate content without losing your work.

Checking your usage

The Billing page shows progress bars for both published trees and certified facts against your plan's limit. 'Unpublish' or 'Uncertify' to free up capacity.
