Auto-save in the Tree Editor
The Tree Editor automatically saves your work so you never lose changes.
How auto-save works
- The editor saves automatically 3 seconds after your last change (typing, moving nodes, adding connections, etc.).
- While you are actively editing, the timer resets on every keystroke or mouse action.
- When there are unsaved changes, the title bar shows an asterisk
*next to the tree name. - The asterisk disappears when the auto‑save completes.
Manual save
Click the Save button in the top bar at any time for an immediate manual save. This does not reset the auto‑save timer.
What is saved
- All nodes and their properties
- All connections between nodes
- Canvas position and zoom level
- Tree metadata (title, description, tags)
Auto‑save does not create version snapshots. Use Save snapshot from the History menu for explicit version control.
