Tree metadata fields

Every diagnostic tree has metadata that helps organize and search your trees.

Fields

  • Title – Display name of the tree. Required. Shown in the Trees list and widget selection menus.
  • Description – Brief explanation of what the tree does. Optional but recommended. Used in search results.
  • Tags – Comma‑separated keywords. Example: hardware, wifi, router. Used for filtering and organizing.
  • Content hash – Automatically generated when publishing. A SHA‑256 hash of the tree structure used for VNT certification.
  • Published date – Timestamp of when the tree was last published.
  • Version number – Increments automatically on each publish. Format: v{major}.{minor}.{patch}.

Editing metadata

In the Tree Editor, click the title at the top to edit title, description, and tags. The content hash and version number are read‑only.
