Freshdesk API key encryption

Freshdesk API key security

Your Freshdesk API key is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM (Advanced Encryption Standard with Galois/Counter Mode).

The key is never:

  • Exposed to customers in the widget
  • Included in any client-side code
  • Logged in plain text
  • Visible in the Certorix UI after you save it

If you regenerate your API key in Freshdesk, you must update it in Certorix → Freshdesk Config. The old encrypted key will be replaced.
