Fact attachments and images

Certified facts can include images, files, and other attachments to enrich the knowledge base.

Supported attachment types

• Images: PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WEBP (max 5 MB per image)
• Documents: PDF (max 10 MB)
• Other: Any file type (max 10 MB) but recommended for images/PDFs only

Adding attachments to a fact

1. While creating or editing a fact, scroll to Attachments section.
2. Click Upload file.
3. Select file from your computer.
4. After upload, the file appears as a link in the fact detail page.

How attachments appear in widget

• Images – Displayed inline within the fact card when customers view the fact.
• PDFs and other files – Shown as a download link: 'Download PDF guide'.
• All attachments are served via CDN with HTTPS.

VNT certification of attachments

When a fact is certified with VNT:

• The list of attachment URLs is included in the signed content (hashed).
• If an attachment is modified after certification, the VNT hash will not match, indicating that the fact has changed.
• Attachments themselves are not signed individually; the fact metadata containing the URLs is signed.
• To change an attachment, you must uncertify, replace the attachment, and re‑certify the fact.

Attachment storage limits

• Free plan – 100 MB total attachment storage.
• Pro plan – 1 GB total attachment storage.
• Business plan – 10 GB total attachment storage.
• Additional storage available as add‑on (contact sales).

Deleting attachments

When you delete a fact, all its attachments are also deleted (after 30‑day grace period). To delete an attachment without deleting the fact, edit the fact, remove the attachment from the list, and save. The attachment is removed immediately.
